Tiye Queen of Egypt
Little known since she was black ,seldom studied by Egyptologists, Queen Tiye is none the less among the Women who had most marked human history.Though of humble origin, she was the Pharaoh Amenhotep lll's great royal spouse, about 3,500 years ago,and her power stretched through out the empire . From the furthest tip of the Near East to the kingdom of Napata in present day Sudan. For her the Pharaoh built a new palace west of Thebes, in a place now called Malkata. Also for her pleasure ,he had a immense lake dug in the desert, measuring 3,500 by 700 cubits. Little by little Tiye became the arbiter of taste in her day ,and the revolution of Egyptian art .Which had been in serious decline dates back to her rule. She counseled her husband in all things, participated in the country's foreign affairs. When her husband the King died their son Akhenaton took over. Up until then, the Egyptians, like other people were polytheists. They saw the world around them as governed by several Gods whom they adored in several temples. But suddenly under the influence of his Mother Queen Tiye he proclaimed for the first time in human history a single God,Aton, the sun ,whom he imposed upon the empire. This reform may have inspired Moses to definitively establish the monotheism that has since spread all over the globe. So even now days ,when people pray to God in a church, mosque,or a synagogue, they may in some way be under Queen Tiye's invisible influence as it reaches across the millennia.
